Meet Your Therapist

Hello and welcome!

I’m Amy (she/her), the founder of Lumen Psychotherapy, based in Sydney, Australia. I’m a registered psychotherapist and counsellor with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA).

I’ve worked in community and private settings, supporting a wide range of people through life’s ups and downs. My background includes working with high school students navigating academic, personal, and family challenges; supporting individuals living with chronic health conditions through a not‑for‑profit organisation; and working with not‑for‑profit organisations to support employees experiencing stress, anxiety, depression, and workplace issues.

As a pluralistic and relational therapist, my practice is grounded in person‑centred therapy. I draw from a range of therapeutic tools and techniques to tailor our sessions to your unique needs, while working from a trauma‑informed and inclusive framework.

At the heart of what I do is creating a space where you feel safe, understood, and supported. We’ll work together to explore ways of healing and growing that feel right for you. It’s a collaborative journey where you’ll be met with empathy, compassion, and curiosity—never judgment.

Outside of work, I love spending time with friends and family, travelling, and diving into different hobbies. Since moving from Canada, I’ve embraced Sydney life wholeheartedly—whether that’s enjoying the beaches, soaking up the sunshine, or exploring the city’s cafés and bakeries in my ongoing search for the best croissant.
