The Lumen Approach to Therapy
I believe therapy has the power to transform the way we experience ourselves, our relationships, and our lives.
I founded Lumen Psychotherapy to create the kind of therapeutic space I believe people deserve—one that feels thoughtful, compassionate, and deeply human. A place where you don't have to arrive with all the answers, but where you can begin to understand yourself with greater clarity, self-compassion, and confidence.
Life can become overwhelming in ways that aren't always visible. You might be navigating anxiety, burnout, relationship challenges, grief, trauma, identity, or a life transition that has left you feeling disconnected from yourself. Sometimes there's no single event to explain why you're struggling, only a quiet sense that something no longer feels sustainable.
Whatever has brought you here, you don't have to navigate it alone.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based practice. I believe meaningful therapy isn't about fixing what's "wrong" with you—it's about understanding the experiences that have shaped you, recognising the patterns that no longer serve you, and creating space for new ways of living, relating, and growing.
Every person who walks through my door brings a unique story. That's why I don't believe in one-size-fits-all therapy. Together, we'll develop an approach that reflects your goals, values, and lived experience, while drawing on proven therapeutic methods that support lasting change.
At the heart of my work is the therapeutic relationship itself. Research consistently shows that feeling safe, understood, and genuinely connected with your therapist is one of the strongest foundations for meaningful progress. I don't take that trust lightly. My intention is to create a space where you can be fully yourself—without judgment, pressure, or expectation.
Lumen Psychotherapy is proudly inclusive and affirming. I welcome people from all backgrounds, identities, cultures, family structures, and lived experiences, and I'm committed to providing care that recognises the whole person. I believe healing happens not only within us, but also through the relationships and communities that shape our lives.
The word Lumen means light—not a light that promises to erase life's challenges, but one that helps illuminate the path forward. Sometimes that means gaining insight. Sometimes it means learning new ways to cope. Often, it means rediscovering the strengths that have been there all along.
My hope is that therapy becomes more than a place to talk about what's difficult. I want it to be a place where you feel supported to reconnect with yourself, strengthen your relationships, and move toward a life that feels more aligned with who you are and who you're becoming.
Whether you're seeking support for a specific challenge or simply looking for a space to pause, reflect, and grow, I'd be honoured to be part of your journey.
Because meaningful change begins with feeling truly seen.
